ABOUT
Redefining menopause care through personalized treatment, compassionate coaching, & transformative education
Hello!
I'm Lavonne
(she/her)
As a Nurse Practitioner and Menopause Specialist, I’ve dedicated my career to women’s health, but it was my own experience and the stories of countless patients that led me to focus specifically on midlife care.
I combine my clinical expertise with coaching and education to help women not just survive menopause, but truly thrive in it.
I’ve witnessed too many women suffer unnecessarily. Women who were dismissed and told their symptoms weren’t real or left to figure things out on their own.
When we work together, you’ll have someone in your corner who truly gets it. I stay up-to-date on the evolving science of menopause so I can offer you evidence-based guidance you can trust.
My approach is simple:
Listen to you, meet you where you are, and help you discover what actually works for your unique body and situation—without judgment, ever.
Personalization
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to menopause care. I create individualized plans based on YOUR symptoms, medical history, and goals.
Whole Person Support
Menopause isn’t just physical – it affects your mood, sleep, relationships, identity, and sense of self. I can help you address all of it.
Empowerment through Education
Knowledge is power. I break down complex medical information into clear, actionable guidance so you can make informed decisions about your care.
Evidenced-Based Care
Menopause research is evolving rapidly. I base recommendations on the latest evidence, not outdated studies or myths.
Dignity & Respect
Your symptoms are real. Your concerns matter. I take the time to listen and understand your full story.
Community & Connection
You’re not alone in this. Through group programs and meetups, you’ll connect with other women who truly understand what you are going through.
Empowered Menopause Care was born from a simple but powerful realization:
Women Deserve Better
Why this Work Matters
For too long, menopause has been treated as something to endure in silence – a taboo topic, an inconvenience, or dismissed as all in your head.
Women have been told their symptoms are normal so they should just accept feeling terrible, or that there’s nothing that can be done because this is just a natural process.
That's not Good Enough
I started this practice because I was tired of seeing intelligent, capable women – women in the prime of their lives – suffer unnecessarily.
I was frustrated by the lack of education, the outdated data about hormone therapy, the dismissive attitude many women face when they seek help, and the lack of time providers have available in the traditional healthcare system to actually help women.
I knew there had to be a better way
A way that:
- Treats women as whole people, not just a list of symptoms
- Combines evidenced-based medicine with lifestyle and emotional support
- Empowers women with accurate information to make informed choices
- Creates community and connection instead of isolation
- Recognizes menopause as a transition of strength, not decline
Empowered Menopause Care is that better way
My Background
Going from Teacher to ARNP
My first career began in education as a middle school teacher for 10 years. This is where I discovered a deep love for teaching, connection, and helping others make sense of complex information.
After staying home with my children during their early years, I went back to school to become an RN and worked as a community health nurse with underserved populations.
In 2017, I became an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP), working in both family practice and women’s health settings including Planned Parenthood and OB/GYN clinics.
In these roles, I provided care across the reproductive lifespan and saw firsthand how gaps in education, time constraints, and systemic barriers often leave women feeling unheard—particularly as they approach midlife.
My Personal Menopausal Journey
Several years ago, when I entered perimenopause myself, everything clicked. Despite my medical training, I was unprepared for the symptoms I experienced—and I quickly realized how many healthcare providers, myself included, lacked adequate education in menopause care.
That personal awakening, combined with watching my patients struggle to be heard and helped, ignited a deep passion for learning everything I could about menopause.
Becoming a Menopause Specialist
As my experience in women’s health grew, I knew I wanted to specialize exclusively in caring for women in midlife. I’ve seen firsthand how often menopause is misunderstood, minimized, or rushed through in traditional medical settings.
This led me to a role as a clinician with Midi Health, where I specialized in full-scope menopause care and gained extensive experience providing evidence-based, virtual menopause treatment.
Wanting to offer even more comprehensive support, I pursued additional training as a certified menopause coach. This allows me to address not only hormones and symptoms, but also lifestyle, mindset, and long-term wellbeing—so women feel informed, supported, and empowered during this pivotal stage of life.
My Philosophy
My philosophy of care is rooted in education, partnership, and compassion. I believe women deserve to be heard, informed, and actively involved in their care.
Menopause is not something to simply “get through,” but a powerful transition that deserves thoughtful, individualized support.
Outside of work, I value the same balance and connection I encourage in my patients.
I enjoy spending time with my family, laughing with friends, walking my dogs, getting lost in a good book, and tending to my garden—simple moments that help keep me grounded and happy.
